This
one's still in the oven, but here's a preview:
Did you ever get a pen and throw it away! Did you ever get
a mug emblazoned with your friend's company's ugly new logo? Did
you toss that too? Memo pads? Magnets? Mousepads? The list goes
on.
To many (both givers and receivers) this stuff is junk - inexpensive
giveaways that businesses hope customers will keep on their desks
or in their briefcases. Getting this to happen is actually easy
-- for us.
There are common mistakes that almost guarantee that an item will
hit the trashcan. Mugs with tons of phone numbers, fax numbers
and addresses are headed straight for the trash. Mugs with logos
alone and a single message like a tagline or a web address are
more likely to be kept and used. When creating a mug, don't think
cheap cheap cheap - think "How can I make this their favorite
mug, the one they will hunt down when someone else "borrows"
it?"
The most expensive promos are those that don't work!
The same goes for pens, mousepads, hats, stressballs etc.
